Christmas provides the opportunity to enter more deeply into the joyful mystery that lies at its heart: God becoming a human in the body of Jesus the Christ. It is a time of renewed hope, a time to celebrate life, an opportunity to spread joy and happiness, share, uplift and lend a helping hand wherever the opportunity arises.

Christ came down in the physical body. He was not a myth, not a metaphor, not an allegory, not a symbol, not a replica. He was a man in flesh and blood, as you are. Yes! But he means much more to us. Even though he did not live in this physical body, he lives in our hearts. Wherever and whenever you can awaken yourself, he is there in your heart. When you think about him, it is not imagination or an hallucination. He is there, but you don’t know it.

On Christmas Eve, two birthdays will be celebrated at the ashram: the birth of Jesus and Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati’s.

Swami Sivamurti will give a Satsang together with other festive activities online. This is an opportunity to join in together, wherever one may be, and rejoice in the true spirit of Christmas.
