Celebration: Welcoming 2024 Satsang & Swami Niranjanananda Initiation Day

14 January 2024 @ 15:00 - 17:00

Language: Greek & English

Online program via Zoom

Before stepping into 2024, let us look back at the year which has passed, and reflect on all the goodness life has brought our way, which we may have overlooked or perhaps taken for granted. By cultivating a positive spirit, each and every moment becomes a lesson, each and every challenge (both pleasant and unpleasant) can be seen as a stepping stone on our evolutionary journey.

Look back, observe and acknowledge this and, and feel grateful.

A truly creative person is one who takes on the many challenges of life with spontaneity and positivity, flowing with the current and allowing the wisdom to arise from within.

– Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati

It is also the time to make a sankalpa, (a resolution), for the coming year, and with a bit of luck keep it! It is the time to contemplate on which goals need to be achieved: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Cultivating a positive attitude enhances all aspects of life. The fruits of these efforts are felt as one becomes more comfortable and happier with oneself. Taking a positive stance brings optimism in life, and makes it easier to avoid worries and negative thought patterns. Positivity gives one strength to handle the obstacles in life by focusing on what can be learnt from them rather than complaining about them and enables one to see the good in others rather than focusing on the negative.

Let us be able to say:

Dear past, thank you for the lessons.

Dear future, I am ready.

As part of the New Year’s celebrations, Swami Sivamurti Saraswati will give the first Satsang for the new year as well as pay tribute to Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, the spiritual successor of Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati and guru of our tradition. Glimpses into Swami Niranjananda’s  life and teachings will be presented as well as honouring the day he was initiated into sannyasa and the dedication he made to serve humanity, following the example of his beloved Guru Sri Swami Satyananda.

The program also includes:

  • Meditation
  • Havan
  • Pooja
  • Cutting of the Vasilopita (New Year’s traditional cake).

Part of the proceeds is offered, on an annual basis, to MAKE-A-WISH (Make-A-Wish Greece).

There is contribution for the program.
